About Us
We are a newly formed association which was established in 2008 in order to bring together the businesses within the area that are essential to the survival of our town.
Our main objective is to utilise the town’s unique character and to promote the area’s local businesses.
Another aim is to support local traders and to help promote events that will attract visitors to the area and to give residents and traders a town they will be proud to be part of.
We endeavour to be a unified voice for traders in order to improve communications with the governing bodies who make decisions on our behalf regarding services such as parking, seasonal lighting and many other issues.
During this last year, we concentrated on the general good will and spirit of Christmas by working with the town and district councils to create a light display throughout the town. This was financed partly by the council.
We work together with many other groups and nearby local communities to synchronize events so that dates do not clash and visitor and residents alike can get maximum enjoyment from the whole area.
Current membership consists of 113 paid up members and is still growing. Membership is open to all who are actively engaged in business within the area. We meet on the first Monday of every month at the Oystercatcher Cafe at 6.30 pm. We also keep in contact with members by e-mail or letters.
